Polish – Hungarian Friendship Association

Polish – Hungarian Friendship Association in Radomsko operates since 1983. The Association familiarise Polish society with Hungarian culture, poetry, classical music, folk songs and dances. It puts a great emphasis on common history of Poland and Hungary and co-operation between these countries. It organises exhibitions, concerts, Hungarian film festivals and meetings with Hungarian writers.

E. Osterloff Photographic Association in Radomsko (previously amateurs’ club) operates since 1962. The Association’s patron is Edmund Osterloff – great photographer born in Radomsko. Its members participate in numerous exhibitions and contests in Poland and abroad. The Association organises Polish Photographic Outdoor “Nature and Landscape”. The association’s gallery is located in the Municipal Library in Radomsko, but it also organises exhibitions in the Regional Museum.

Partnership – Forum for Disabled in Radomsko operates since 1999, in September 2000 it was registered as an association. Due to its efforts the Information Office for Disabled was set up and website of the office and the association was designed. The main objective of the office is to help disabled people to resolve their problems. The Information Office offers free and complete information on rights of disabled people, guidance in writing applications and complaints.

STANISLAW MONIUSZKO CHORAL SOCIETY

Stanislaw Moniuszko Choral Society in Radomsko was set up in 1923. Its main objective is promotion of choral and solo singing, symphonic music and theatre performances. The choir performs on sacral and secular ceremonies, gives concerts in Poland and abroad.
In 1974 the society celebrated 50th anniversary of its foundation and received special blessing from Pope Paul VI. That time the choir was conducted by Albin Mrówczyński – great conductor who was awarded a medal Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice from the Pope.
In 1995 the society together with the conductor were awarded medal of the 20th anniversary of Piotrkowskie province and diploma for promoting culture. At the moment the choir is conducted by Marek Koper.
In year 2003 Stanislaw Moniuszko Choral Society will celebrate its 80th anniversary.

THE MONUMENTS’ CARE SOCIETY

The Monuments’ Care Society was founded in 1991. Its main goal is to take care of Monuments, cultural landscape and to encourage the society to take actions to protect national culture assets. The society pays great attention to the old cemetery in Radomsko – every year it raises funds to restore the tombs. The society co-operates with many veterans’ organisations. Its members write articles about patriotic ceremonies and historical events. They also visit schools and give lectures to familiarise pupils with the history of Radomsko and its monuments.



POLISH DIABETIC ASSOCIATION

The association’s main objective is to provide help to diabetics. It organises demonstrations of wholefoods and new medicines, meetings of diabetics with doctors, etc.


NUMISMATIC SOCIETY

The society operates in Radomsko since 1986. It familiarises community with numismatics trough: lectures, gatherings, exhibitions and demonstrations of its collection. The exhibits include: bank notes from the interwar years and People’s Republic of Poland, medals with Polish eagle, coins, Polish army distinctions, white weapon, clocks, etc.

Numismatic auctions are organised every last Sunday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. in the Municipal Community Centre.

CULTURAL INITIATIVES FOUNDATION

Cultural Initiatives Foundation in Radomsko operates since 1992. The foundation supports all cultural initiatives, provides information and financial assistance to talented amateurs. It gives scholarships to talented children and youths, organises exhibitions, concerts, meetings with local artists.

POLISH SCOUTS’ ASSOCIATION IN RADOMSKO

Regiment of Polish Scouts’ Association operating in Radomsko associates scouts and instructors. Its main activities are: building community of instructors and squads, educating and training scoutmasters, recruiting instructors, supporting squads in preparation of winter and summer actions, co-operation with local authorities.


FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM ASSOCIATION

The main objective of the association’s members is to familiarise Polish society, and especially inhabitants of Radomsko city and county, with the exhibits of the Regional Museum and its scientific, educational and artistic activities. The association co-operates with the museum in collection and conservation of exhibits, participates in research, etc. It organises lectures, courses, excursions, contests and exhibitions; publishes and distributes brochures, guidebooks, bulletins, graphics, folk songs, and postcards.

KATYŃ FAMILIES ASSOCIATION

The members of the association are: families and friends of Polish Prisoners Of War from POW camps in Kozielsk, Starobielsk and Ostaszków, as well as other prison camps in the former USSR. The association’s objective is to reveal facts about Polish POW’s held and murdered in Katyń and other places in the former USSR.
